Levels reflect the complexity level of acquired knowledge, skills and competences (learning outcomes).

LQF covers stages of education starting from the basic education (level 1 – special basic education) to the highest education (level 8 – doctoral studies).

Learning outcomes

Learning outcomes are knowledge, skills and competences acquired during a certain period of learning.

In Latvia, learning outcomes are stipulated by state education standards and occupational standards (for the professional qualifications).

Learning outcomes of higher education are defined by higher education institutions.

After graduating from the study program, students are able to:
1. work professionally and independently structure their learning, organise the work, professional development and life-long learning of themselves and of their subordinates in various forms of new media art – audiovisual media and sound art, immersive and interactive media art, multimedia performance art, animation, digital graphic design, interactive digital product and service design;
2. formulate, analytically describe and evaluate the problems and processes of new media art and design in the context of cultural-historical and current developments, apply gained knowledge in argumentation, research and discussions with both specialists and non-specialists;
3. develop and implement innovative, interdisciplinary, sustainable and socially inclusive new media art and design projects, using the acquired theoretical foundations and skills;
4. take responsibility and initiative when doing work individually or cooperating in a team, make decisions and find creative solutions in changing or unclear conditions;
5. understand the professional ethics of new media art and design, and evaluate the impact of your professional activity on the environment and society, After completing the study program, students are able to:
1. act professionally and independently structure one’s learning, promote one’s own and subordinates’ work, further learning and professional development in diverse expressions of new media art and design – audiovisual media and sound art, generative, immersive and interactive media art, multimedia performance art, animation, digital in the design of graphics, as well as interactive digital products and services;
2. formulate, analytically describe and evaluate the problems and processes of new media art and design in the context of cultural history and current developments, apply knowledge in argumentation, research and discussions with both specialists and non-specialists;
3. develop and implement innovative, interdisciplinary, sustainable and socially inclusive new media art and design projects, using the acquired theoretical foundations and skills;
4. to take responsibility and initiative when performing work individually or cooperating in a team, to make decisions and find creative solutions in changing or unclear conditions;
5. understand the professional ethics of new media art and design, evaluate the impact of one’s professional activity on the environment and society, participate in the development of the professional field of new media art and design.

Certificate of general secondary education or Diploma of vocational secondary education
Ways to acquire 
Qualifications can be acquired in the framework of education programs or in the evaluation and recognition of non-formal knowledge, skills and competences acquired (in vocational education LKI Levels 2-4).
