Objectives of the Study Program:
– to provide an opportunity for students to obtain the academic education at the and Master’s Degree level, and the degree of a Master of Humanities in Writing Studies, by training the students for an independent, creative research and scientific activity, bearing an interdisciplinary character, in various spheres of writing (research and critics of writing, creative and critical writing, literary editing and publishing).
Attainable Study Results:
By acquiring the compulsory study courses, the students:
– consolidate their comprehension with regard to the language as the basic tool of writing, and develop the skills of using a refined language;
– obtain interdisciplinary research skills, consolidate the concept on the connection of the literary theory with cognate scientific disciplines, such as, philosophy, communications and other;
– acquire the basic skills for exploration of the literary process.
Module Literary Theory and Analyses:
– the students obtain knowledge in the scientific discipline – literary theory, as well as, acquire practical skills for the analyses of fiction, by applying both, the classical text analyses, and the fundamental principles of contemporary research strategies, as well as, the principles of lingvo – stylistic analyses.
Acquisition of the module Creative and Critical Writing develops the creative potential and the basic skills creative writing in various types and genres of writing, helps to comprehend the opportunities of creativeness in the literary research, simultaneously developing the skills of critical thinking and argumentation.
Acquisition of the module Literary Editing and Publishing stipulates for developing of practical skills in literary editing of a text, as well as, provided interconnection of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
In the course of elaboration of the Master’s Thesis, the students obtain research experience, acquire interdisciplinary research skills, as well as, verify their competence in writing and in the research methodology of writing.
