The purpose of the study program shall be to provide such conditions which allow for acquisition of qualitative and competitive education higher professional intersectoral education in design, by preparing such specialists, who are able to realize such innovative ideas of the particular sphere of specialization, which are rooted in research and artistic creativity.

Attainable Study Results:
The Students shall be motivated for professional planning and organization of design activities on an individual level and in co-operation with the counterparties and customers;
– they shall be capable of designing and elaborating the necessary technological documentation to ensure production in the course of design elaboration;
– the students shall be competent in the design research methodology, and able to apply acquired knowledge to create independent results;
– the students shall be able to analyze, synthesize and apply their theoretical and practical knowledge in the course of implementation of innovative ideas by applying modern data collection, processing and systematization technologies;
– based on the experience, which has been acquired during the research practice, the students shall be able to draw independent conclusions for further professional activity;
– the students shall acquire the second level professional higher education in design and shall be competitive in the chosen branch of design;
– the new specialists shall be motivated for further education and systematic perfection of their qualification, treating education in design as a lifelong education.

    1. Ability to specify requirements related to the design and implementation of a project, configure work tasks and resources required to implement the project.
    2. Ability to assess an area prior to design, understand the interactions of interior design and architectural environment.
    3. Ability to understand the possibilities of area development, consider the placement of load-bearing structures and utilities, assess area conversion options during project design.
    4. Ability to understand interior, architectural and design criteria in a cultural, political, economic, technical, aesthetic, ethnic and social context.
    5. Ability to understand the importance of cultural heritage and environmental conservation.
    6. Ability to predict the stability of aesthetic values of architecture and design of a specific period, determine the contextual, cultural, social and economic priorities of a project, comply with them in conceptual design.
    7. Ability to define the main task, independently and creatively develop a conceptual model of a project, coordinate it with the customer, employer, architect and responsible authorities, select the most appropriate interior design techniques.
    8. Ability to understand and use principles and techniques of the development of stylistically uniform and (or) eclectic interior ensembles.
    9. Ability to develop a functional scheme, functional layout of space complying with tectonically and functionally logical, ergonomical, safety and accessibility requirements.
    10. Ability to design interior elements and components (non-load bearing).
    11. Ability to understand the possibilities offered by modern technology and utilize them for an appropriate, high-quality aesthetic artificial lighting solution.
    12. Ability to design layout plans for lighting, electrical connections and utilities.
    13. Ability to collaborate with experts from other professions (such as architects, engineers, technologists, restorers, designers, artists), coordinate project components and design work.
    14. Ability to design decoration and colour solution projects that fit the functions and style of the area.
    15. Ability to be aware of the range of traditional and modern construction and finishing materials and technologies.
    16. Ability to understand furniture and lighting stylistics, news of the design and related industries, select and assemble furniture and light fixtures that fit the design concept.
    17. Ability to design interior objects.
    18. Ability to understand the differences of serial and unique design objects of various levels of difficulty within design, project documentation development, development of graphic materials matched to the manufacturer’s specific features.
    19. Ability to select project documentation standards, understand the logic of display and the importance of presentation of ideas.
    20. Ability to prepare drawings, models, specifications of interior components and elements, as well as cost estimates and documents necessary for the harmonization and implementation of a project.
    21. Ability to visualize an interior project, using traditional methods, computer technology and other modern technologies.
    22. Ability to harmonize project documentation.
    23. Ability to select a presentation strategy, present a project.
    24. Ability to plan the execution of a project and carry out author’s supervision, monitor the compliance of project implementation with the project concept, aesthetic and technical qualities, safety requirements.
    25. Ability to monitor the quality and compliance of manufacturing of interior elements or components (such as furniture, lighting fixtures) with the project concept.
    26. Ability to follow material, furniture, lighting fixture and equipment delivery process and installation quality thereof.
    27. Ability to find the most appropriate solution to the problems encountered during project implementation.
    28. Ability to communicate in the official language and two foreign languages.
