Programme Objectives:
The aim of the study programme is to educate tourism and hospitality management specialists who are able to demonstrate basic and specialised knowledge relevant to the profession, make decisions and resolve problems;
– take on responsibility and demonstrate initiative;
– independently structure one’s own professional development.
– to provide consistent, close and mutually beneficial ties with the tourism sector enterprises in Latvia and abroad to ensure the compliance of the programme to the actual needs of the industry.

Planned learning Outcomes:
Study programme graduates:
– understand and are able to interpret theoretical and practical aspects in the tourism and hospitality areas at the global and regional level;
– demonstrate understanding of tourism organizational structures and tourism business;
– understand the core essentials of creating and managing the tourism product offer;
– understand business management and financial management processes;
– able to carry out research work, work out development solutions for the industry and enterprises taking into account the principles of sustainable development;
– able to practically resolve topical tourism and hospitality related issues by applying the knowledge gained in the fields of tourism and hospitality, business management, qualitative and quantitative research methods.
– are to work in a team  and demonstrate initiative and creativity;
– able to communicate using foreign languages for professional purposes and applying their communication and interaction skills while working in an international environment;
– independently identify and critically evaluate tourism industry and professional business problems;
– independently acquire new knowledge and skills  and are able to carry out a complex and in depth analysis of the actualities in the tourism sector;
– demonstrates an understanding of the impact of tourism and hospitality on the environment and work in accordance with the UN WTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.
