The program will demonstrate the potential of higher education to adapt to the development processes of knowledge society and photography market. The study process will include aspects of visualization technology, creative thinking and management, which are all essential in the sphere of creative industries.

Implementation of the program in Latvia will promote an influx of young specialists in photography media and communication science who can professionally and academically address the specifics of manifestations and application of the medium of photography in nowadays society.

The program is based on knowledge, skills and competences that are applicable in implementing various photography-related projects – in advertising, art, journalism, research, public relations, entertainment industry, internet, etc.

This program will be the grounds for research in photography as a communication medium, thus deepening the understanding of the history, theory and development tendencies of photography, transformations of analogue and digital technologies and prognoses for the further development of this medium.
