Latvian Qualifications Framework (LQF) has 8 levels (1 – the lowest, 8 – the highest).

Levels reflect the complexity level of acquired knowledge, skills and competences (learning outcomes).

LQF covers stages of education starting from the basic education (level 1 – special basic education) to the highest education (level 8 – doctoral studies).

Level of professional qualification
Latvia has a system of five professional qualifications levels (PQL, 1 – the lowest, 5 – the highest).

PQL system covers only professional qualifications (basic education, secondary and higher education stages).

PQL reflects readiness of a person to perform work of certain stage of complexity and responsibility.

Learning outcomes

Learning outcomes are knowledge, skills and competences acquired during a certain period of learning.

In Latvia, learning outcomes are stipulated by state education standards and occupational standards (for the professional qualifications).

Learning outcomes of higher education are defined by higher education institutions.

    5. To combine the components of the article.
    6. To determine the compatibility of article components to the knot to be made.
    7. To choose appropriate ancillary materials and fittings according to the technological requirements.
    8. To carry out the visual and technical testing of sewing and hygrothermal equipment before starting the work.

    1. Ability to prepare the working place according to the task received by choosing the appropriate ancillary materials, instruments, equipment and their ancillary devices.
    2. Ability to choose an appropriate knot processing according to the technological requirements.
    3. Ability to choose appropriate ancillary materials and fittings for producing the article according to the technological requirements.
    4. Ability to assemble the components according to the marks and cut components.
    5. Ability to check on the compatibility of cut details to the knot to be made by taking into consideration the permitted displacement in the cuttings.
    6. Ability to cut separate components and elements by taking into consideration the technological rules by using the provided templates or cuttings and appropriate instruments.
    7. Ability to assess the visual and technical compatibility of the sewing equipment according to the requirements of the technical documentation.
    8. Ability to carry out technical maintenance of the sewing equipment according to the requirements of the usage and technical documentation of the equipment.
    9. Ability to qualitatively sew tha articles by choosing appropriate devices and instruments without assistance.
    10. Ability to prepare the articles for trying on by using appropriate equipment, ancillary materials and instruments.
    11. Ability to regulate the devices according to the appropriate sewing and hygrothermal processing parameters.
    12. Ability to carry out the necessary processing and duplication of the article components with ancillary materials before sewing of the knots.
    13. Ability to produce articles by following the sewing sequence and provided technological requirements.
